Making way for a new housing development two existing water pipelines needed to be moved. To ensure that the capacity of the pipelines were sufficient for future growth it was decided to rather upgrade the lines and increase the capacity at the same time. One of the lines are to be used as a rising main to pump water up to the dam and the other line to gravitate water back down to the water treatment works. This is the first phase of a dual-purpose water pipeline. The consulting engineer investigated various materials and it was decided that Flowtite GRP was the best suited option.
