The farms sea water supply upgrade started in 2009 and due to existing infrastructure installation occurred over the roof and between tight spaces. Pipes were exposed to the harsh coastal elements. GRP was cost effective and upgrades are ongoing. Reduced friction coefficients and lower levels of bio-fouling, both contributing to an improved system efficiency, resulting in a reduced life cycle cost.

One of the challenges in the most recent phase involved laying pipes underground in hard rock. Over 190 various custom made fittings were supplied.
